One of my life texts is found in Ephesians 3:20, “Now to Him who is able to do exceeding and abundantly above all we ask or imagine according to the power at work in us…”
I would like to suggest that for most Christians, their God is too small. They find themselves in a difficult time… struggling over issues… in a pressure cooker… confused… and they start worrying. They become anxious. They get depressed. They find it hard to worship, pray, and read their Bible when a good thing to focus on would be How Big Their God Is rather than the problem in front of them.
Let me explain…
We need a faith of steel, not straw. The steel of How Big Our God Is keeps us from being overwhelmed by fear, worry, anxiety, and worry. And I can guarantee you this, you are either IN a storm of life… just come OUT OF a storm of life… or are ABOUT TO ENTER a storm of life. I know that because that’s life!
The steel that will protect you during a storm is what you believe about God! Consider the following…
In Genesis 18:13-14 when Sara was past child bearing years, God asked Abraham… “Is anything too hard for the LORD?”
In Jeremiah 32:17 the prophet prayed to God… “Ah, Lord GOD! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.”
In Jeremiah 32:27 God said to the prophet… “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?”
In Matthew 19:26 in response to the Apostles’ asking the question, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus replied… “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Just in case you missed it… according to the Scripture above… what can God do? Asked another way… Is there anything God cannot do? ** Pause for reflection ** Now, how do those truths apply to you?!
