I just read a story on Fox News that exposes the difference between Christianity (Jesus) and Islam (Mohammed). It reported how a 17 year old girl was beaten and raped by seven men. While reading it I couldn’t help but remember how Jesus handled a similar situation as found in John 8:3-12. A woman caught in the act adultery was brought to Jesus. He was reminded how the Law of Moses required the woman to be stoned to death. And what did Jesus do? He told them, “You who is without sin cast the first stone.” And then all her accusers walked away.
Afterward Jesus asked the woman where those who condemned her were and the woman said they had left, Jesus replied, “Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more.”
And there is the difference. Jesus’ kingdom is about mercy… forgiveness… compassion… and restoration. Jesus’ message is intended to build up, encourage, and help those who are failures and make mistakes. Jesus brought life and light to people who need it most.
Muslims who follow the teachings of Mohammed blow themselvs up to kill “infidels” upon the promise of heaven. Christians on the other hand follow Christ and give their life to save others. Christians are willing to die if necessary for others so that they can be saved. Christianity is the path of peace because it’s founder is the Prince of Peace. As Jesus said, “By their fruits you will know them.”
Let all who name Jesus as Lord only be guilty of bringing peace and never the sword. For after all… By OUR fruits people will know us too! And interesting expose.
