One of the most important things I want to teach my children is how to handle and process life events in ways that glorify God.  I want them to be able to handle minor issues and major events with spiritual maturity reflecting their aboslute trust in God no matter what they go through.  With that said…

Has there ever been a day you knew was coming and the result of it would be fairly significant in your life and family?  Maybe it is a doctor’s appointment… a meeting with your boss, accountant, or lawyer.  Regardless… think of an event that you knew could be a before that day and after that day for you.  Or at least a day significant enough in your life you won’t forget it for a long time.

That’s where we are today… to a degree.  We knew October 13th was coming for a while.  In earthly terms, today will either be a disappointment or a blessing.  From heaven’s view today WILL be a blessing… regardless of the outcome.  Today could be a reason for relief or redirection.  Ultimately whatever today brings, God’s will WILL be done.

Sorry not to give much more information about the particulars… but they really aren’t important as far as this post goes.  There are a number of things that ARE important I’d like for you to consider.  I personally choose to sift, understand, and process every event of my life by these truths… regardless of what those events may be:

God is love.  That means whatever and everything He does… causes… or allows is always nothing but loving.

God is in control.  Not me… not Satan… not even other humans are the ultimate determiners of the events that enter my life.

God is good.  Because God is love and in control, I will know Him to be good in whatever He does.  I may not understand how, but that doesn’t mean He isn’t.

God is trustworthy.  Because God is love, in control, and good… I can trust Him absolutely!

Romans 8:28… “God causes ALL THINGS to work together for the good of those who love Him… who are the called according to His purpose.”  An event (Such as will happen today) may be but ONE event of several that He is working together that will RESULT in a greater good and blessing that I can’t yet see or understand.  Therefore I will see this event as part of a process that has an ultimate end (See next point).

Romans 8:29…  “Those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son.”  God does not leave the Christian’s (My) holiness, sanctification, or conformity to Christ to chance.  He wills it.  He predestines it.  He makes sure it will happen without a doubt.  Thus I know that each life event is working toward that goal and thusI can rejoice in the ultimate result of whatever happens in my life.

Philippians 4:4… Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

THEREFORE I BELIEVE AND AM ABLE TO…

James 1:2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

Philippians 4:4  Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. 5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; 6  do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt you, 7  casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you. 10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

1 Corinthians 10:13 No test has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your ability, but with the test He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Ephesians 3:20 Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21  to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.

Is God’s Will Always Good?  YES!
