This won’t be a long post. It is one of those that is really easy to write. Now…

GhogPeople are obsessed with the future and wanting to know what will happen. Prognosticators abound for weather, sports, finance, politics, world affairs, and people’s lives. One King of Israel (Saul) went to a witch for a reading, and the witch got shocked (1 Sam 28:3-20). Some jokingly look to a groundhog to determine the future…

Jesus told his followers, and us by extension, about the future. Here’s what He said and a “therefore” or two… John 16:33…

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.

There it is. Jesus’ “Heads Up!” of what the future will be with two encouragements. Therefore…

Phil 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Prov 3:5Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.

Ro 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Eph 1:10In (Jesus) 11 also we have obtained an inheritance… who works all things after the counsel of His will…

“That’s all I have to say about that…” (Forrest Gump)
