Today is Maunday Thursday.  On this day four events are remembered: The washing of the Disciples feet, The Last Supper, the agony of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, and the betrayal of Judas.

“Maunday” would best be translated to mean… “Mandate.”  It reminds believers that Jesus gave a mandate to the Apostles as he washed their feet which was… “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you” (John 13:34).

The reading for today would include… John 13:1 to John 18:12.

As you read and reflect upon this passage of Scripture, consider carefully what was happening and what would happen.  Specially that as these events transpired Jesus was working to provide salvation.

  Read S-L-O-W-L-Y.

Reflect upon what you read (2 Timothy 2:7).

Thank God for what He has done!
