This looks like a random (click the picture to enlarge) bunch of blue, purple, and black colors that make no sense… unless you know how to look at it.  It is a a flying bird.

In the same way, our lives are not random… and neither was the life of Jesus.  Consider…

The crucifixion was not an accident.  The resurrection was not a surprise.  Those mean our salvation has been in God’s mind a long time (Rev 13:8).

Jesus tried to tell the Apostles… but they didn’t get it and at times rejected Jesus’ death and resurrection (Mt 16:21-23; Mt 17:22-23).

Everything Herod, Pontius Pilate, the Jews, and Gentiles did were according God’s plan (Acts 4:27-28).  And Jesus knew it… “For this purpose I have come…” (Jn 12:27).

That’s why Jesus prayed… “Father glorify Your name!” (Jn 12:28).  That’s why Jesus prayed, “Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will” (Mt 26:39-40).  That’s why Jesus taught us to pray… “THY will be DONE on earth as it is in heaven” (Mt 6:10).

Life is not random.  It is ordered by the Great… Loving… Kind… Merciful… and Gracious God of Eternity.  THAT is why Christians have entered the Sabbath Rest (Heb 4:9) and are able to “Rejoice in the Lord always” (Phil 4:4).  That is why Christians are content in all circumstances (Phil 4:11).  That is why Christians “Count it ALL joy…” (Ja 1:2).

“Let the Word dwell in you richly…” (Col 3:16)
