On November 10, 1984… in Birmingham, Alabama… at West End Baptist Church… Pamela Jo Britton and I… along with many family and friends… gave glory to God in a worship service (A.K.A. getting married).  That was 27 years ago at 7:00 PM tomorrow night.  Oh… we’re both still on our first marriage!

From that time… like all other couples… we’ve had our ups and downs, good and bad times, fun and not so fun times.  The real blessings of our life are the kids… Amy (5/24/86), Trey (5/24/89) and Britton (11/12/92).  In the picture is Trey, Amy, Me, Pam, and Britton (Taken November 2010).

My sweet wife is the reason I can do what I do and carry out my call.  She is very much behind the scenes.  She is the sweetest, most sacrificial, and caring person I know.  Of all people I know, she is the one who has taught me the most about what unconditional love looks and acts like.

When God put us together at Samford University in 1982, I had no way of knowing that I was receiving the second greatest blessing of my life… salvation being first.

I love you sweety!  Happy 27th anniversary!!

Ephesians 5:21 Submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.  22  Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.

25  Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her, 26 that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 so that He might present the church to Himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.  28 In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, 30 because we are members of His body. 31  “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32 This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church.

1 Peter 3:7 Husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.
