There are a lot of preachers and ministers (Charlatins) who are perverting the Gospel of Jesus Christ!  They use Biblical terms… quote a lot of Scripture… use smooth logic… and have large followings.  But the message they preach is a lie.  I was reading another blog that made this point and I just had to comment on it myself.

These men and women teach that it is God’s will for His children to be wealthy and healthy.  They teach it is God’s plan for His children to prosper.  They cater to the fleshly side of men’s nature.  They teach if you believe… you will receive.  Click here for a previous post that dealt with this topic by video (This is well worth watching!).

I suggest you to click here and consider the theology that will open your eyes to the error these people preach.

The term applied to these “ministers” is “The Prosperity Gospel,” or “The Health And Wealth Gospel,” or “Name It And Claim It” theology.  But what they preach and teach is anything BUT The Gospel Jesus brought to earth!

The problem with their “Gospel” is that it is set on the fires of hell.  Compare their message to what Jesus and Paul taught as found in the following Scriptures…

Acts 14:22 “Through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.

Philippians 1:29 “For to you it has been granted for Christ’s sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake.”

Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”

Matthew 16:24-26 “If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.  For whoever wishes to save his life shall lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake shall find it. For what will a man be profited, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?”

Luke 12:15 “Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions.”

The “Gospel” that I’ve heard come from Joel Oseteen, Joyce Meyer, Creflo Dollar, Kenneth Copeland, and Benny Hinn (et al.) is not the Gospel I read in the New Testament.  They don’t deliver the message that put Jesus on the cross.  They certainly would have been censored by the early Church because their doctrine is inconsistent with what the Apostle’s proclaimed!  So I close with the following passages of Scripture for contemplation…

Matthew 7:15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.”

Acts 20:29-31 “I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; 30 and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them. 31 Therefore be alert…”

1 John 4:1 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
