Our Christian brothers and sisters are fleeing for their lives while we whine and worry about our retirement. Our Christian brothers and sisters lives are in danger while Americans worry about who will win a stupid election! Our Christian family is being persecuted and we’re happy gasoline has dropped below $4.00 a gallon.

We don’t get it!  Our world revovles around Auburn and Alabama winning foolish games… a coach getting fired… where our team is in the national ranking… while people are dying (Literally) only because they are believers in Jesus Christ.  We pat ourselves on the back for pretty websites… neat concerts… and nice little church fellowships while Christians huddle in fear that a knock on the door will be the end of their life on earth.  We worry about people having their doctrine right (Which means “like us”)… we fuss about church discipline… we argue over who controls what in church and forget that there are things a LOT more important than our piddling concerns.

Where are our priorities?  Are we so earthly minded we’ve forgotten that we’re in a real war against an enemy that is out to destroy us and those of our family for whom Jesus died?

Think about these quotes from Fox News while you sit in church tomorrow…

Hundreds of terrified Christian families have fled Mosul to escape extremist attacks that have increased despite months of U.S. and Iraqi military operations to secure the northern Iraqi city, political and religious officials said Saturday.

“The Christians were subjected to abduction attempts and paid ransom, but now they are subjected to a killing campaign,” Kashmoula said, adding he believed “Al Qaeda” elements were to blame and called for a renewed drive to root them out.

Islamic extremists have frequently targeted Christians since the invasion, forcing tens of thousands to flee Iraq. Attacks had tapered off amid a drastic decline in overall violence nationwide, but that appears to be changing with the deaths this month.

On Saturday, Bashir Azoz, a 45-year-old carpenter, said he was forced to flee his home in the city’s eastern Noor area after gunmen warned a neighbor the day before to leave or face death.

“Where is the government and its security forces as these crimes take place every day?” asked Azoz, who is now staying with his wife and three children in a monastery in the Christian-majority town of Qarqoush, east of Mosul.

Are we in prayer for them or will we keep our hearts tuned to the stock market.  Where are our prayers… where are our hearts… what can and will we do for our family that is in dire trouble?

But to God’s glory, even the Muslim extremists who persecute Christians are not beyond Jesus’ power to save!  Yet, when Muslims convert to Christianity they are in danger of being killed.  “To live is Christ… to die is GAIN!” (Philippians 1:21).
