It is written in Habakkuk 2:3, “For still the vision awaits its appointed time… If it seems slow (That it’s never going to happen) wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.” ESV

Is there something God’s has placed as a burden on your heart you want to see come to pass… and it isn’t happening?  Does it seem like what you are hoping will happen will never take place?  Do you have a vision of something great being done for God… but you feel like it’s January 1st and Christmas is light years away?  Wait.

“God is not slow about his promises as some count slowness…” (2 Pet 3:9).  A promotion… The results of medical tests… An answer to prayer…?  Wait.

God has over 5 billion lives in His hands.  There are countless situations and events taking place in each of those 5 billion people.  You and I are just 1 in 5 billion.  But He gives attention to us as if we were the only person on earth.  So wait…

To bring to pass what you hope and pray for… your vision for life… there may be 5, 25, or 105 things that He is working out SO THAT what you are wating for will come to pass.  So wait…

In addition to that, there are most likely things in your own life God has to bring about so that you will be ready to handle the thing you have a vision for.  So wait…

In Genesis Joseph had a vision (A dream) that he would one day be a ruler.  But first he had to be prepared to handle the responsibility of ruling.  That meant being sold into slavery two times… being falsely accused of rape… cast into prision… and forgotten for years before his vision (Dream) became a reality.  So wait…

If what you long for and look forward to happening hasn’t yet come to pass, that just means that either you aren’t ready for it or God is in the process of working out some things that have to be in place before your vision becomes a reality.  So wait…

“At the proper time” (1 Peter 5:6b) God will bring it to pass…. so wait.  A mother hen sitting on her nest doesn’t look like she is doing anything, but without her sitting there for days the eggs won’t hatch.  At the proper time, when the time is right, when everything is in place new life breaks out of the egg she’s been sitting on.  To crack the egg open too soon results in death.  So she waits… and so we should wait on God.

Whatever it is you are waiting on, know this… God has not forgotten you!  He is not ignoring you!  He is at work to bring to pass what you are waiting for.  And when the right time comes, you will be glad you waited!

Isaiah 30:18, “Therefore the LORD waits to be gracious to you, and therefore He exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for Him.” (ESV)
