As Christians, in eternity past God wrote our name in His Book of Life.[i] He gave HIS only son so that we could live![ii] He has NOT dealt with us according to what we deserve (Eternal Wrath).[iii] He’s lavished His eternal love on us.[iv] He’ll never leave nor forsake us.[v] HE only allows into our life what is ultimately for our good![vi]
It means God will not allow anything into our life that we can’t handle.[vii] HE won’t allow anything or anyone to separate us from Him.[viii] It means that the Holy Spirit AND Jesus pray FOR us constantly.[ix] It means Christ LIVES IN US.[x] It means when we die at least two angels will escort us into God’s presence… heaven.[xi]
All of these… & many more things… are gifts! We haven’t done anything to earn or deserve them. HE gave them all to us even though we are sinful sinners to our core! How awesome is that?!
The best gage of our love for God is how we handle our money. REPEAT!

Mitzvot is Hebrew for Commandments. There were a total of 613 required ordinances under the Old Covenant!
Jesus said tithing was the least (important) weightier matter of the law in Matthew 23:23 and he was speaking to JEWS WHEN THE LAW WAS STILL IN EFFECT BECAUSE HE HAD NOT YET DIED ON THE CROSS AND SAID PAID IN FULL!

I do hope that you weren’t being virulent in your “lazy Christian” comment. That seems to be a little ascerbic to say the least.
As for your comment that tithing was “the least” of the commandments, I don’t remember reading that in Luke 11:42, “But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and every herb, and neglect justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others.” As i understand it Jesus did not minimize tithing in relation to justice & God’s love as much as He equalized them in importance!
IF you are saying that Jesus’ death and resurrection did away with the responsibilities of everything prior, I’d say you are misinformed. His death and resurrection “finished” the payment for sin. But the matters of justice, Love of God, AND tithing are still an important part of being one of His disciples.
