It is written in 2 Corinthians 4:16-18…

So we do not lose heart. Though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day. For this slight momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

When you’re discouraged, there is great reason to be encouraged! Take God at His Word. The Spirit inspired Paul to write the above passage so that when we are at the end of our rope we choose to take heaven’s view rather than our own about life and eternity.

If we live 90+ years, that is nothing compare to eternity with God. Thus we believe what God tells us about the eternal timeline of life. “In this world we will have tribulation… but Jesus has overcome the world! It is much better to struggle in this life and be joyful for eternity than have a few decades of joy now and lose our soul. Take God at his word!

Meditate on 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 the next time you are discouraged.
