Everyone does what they want to do, then they find a reason or excuse for doing it. If you are too busy, you have chosen to be busy. You can never honestly say, “I didn’t have the time to.” No, you chose to do something else with your time based on your priorities. No one… NO ONE… can force you to do anything… ever. They can implement whatever consequences they want, but bottom line YOU choose what you will do.
God doesn’t give anyone something to do they can’t accomplish in his power (The operative word is GOD). If you have too much to do, it isn’t God’s fault, it is your own for choosing to do things God doesn’t require of you. C.S. Lewis wrote somewhere, “Only lazy people are busy.” Your life and my life must boil down to being energetic in making decisions about what to do that God gives us to do. His call, requirements, and resources are always adequate to what He wants to accomplish WHERE WE ARE.
Consider the following passages…
Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God… (2 Cor 3:5)
(Jesus) said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (2 Cor 12:9)
His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness… (2 Peter 1:3)
The remedy? Jesus in Mark 6:31 (NIV), “Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, ‘Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.'”
