Health Care passed (Whether that’s positive or negative is for you to call). The economy is not doing well. People can’t find work… or may lose their jobs. Morality and ethics seems to have been forgotten by many. In response to any… all… or more of these things will expose (Get that?)… it will EXPOSE what we believe and where our faith is.
The WORST testimony Christians can give right now in America is to: 1) Whine, 2) Worry, 3) Gripe, 4) Complain, 5) Attack the other political party, 6) Be negative in our outlook, 7) Wring our hands over what the future holds.
What happened to believing… “We walk by faith, not by sight?”
What happened to believing… “God causes ALL THINGS to work together for the good of those who love Him?”
What happened to believing… “Rejoice in the Lord always… Again I say REJOICE!?”
What happened to believing… “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding?”
What happened to believing… “The king’s (President’s, Congressman’s, Congress’, Senator’s, Governor’s, etc) heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; He turns it wherever He will?”
What happened to believing that God is sovereign, in control, and that He is still God?
The strength of our faith is proven when things do not go our way… when life is difficult… when we are having a tough time. As it is written in Proverbs 24:10, “If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.”
Now let’s connect the dots (Thanks Donna!). Of all people Christians should be…
Living today in a manner that glorifies God because we walk by faith (2 Corinthians 5:7),
Hopeful and speak hope to others because we know God is working for our good (Romans 8:28),
Upbeat, encouraging, and rejoicing because our joy is in the Lord (Philippians 4:4),
Not trust our emotions based on events that happen around us (Proverbs 3:5),
Not be afraid because God is in control of the government (Proverbs 21:1),
Completely at peace because God is still God and still in control!
How we act in adversity and in disappointing times reveals… exposes… and proves our faith. Let’s show everyone, by our actions and words, that Our hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness. Let’s show the world We dare not trust the sweetest frame but wholly lean on Jesus name!
So true Ron. I wonder sometimes if God has us going through the things we are in order to prepare us to minister to this chaotic society. We shall see!
Ron, I agree with Mr. Davis’ comment.
Having had a difficult time over the past few months, God has really showed me this that HE IS IN CONTROL and it does not matter what this world does, HE IS STILL IN CONTROL. Nothing is going to happen to me that God doesn’t know about already. It can be easy to complain, or whine but that is where our faith comes into play. Others are watching us and checking out our faith as to if it is real or not. Thanks for writing it down so clearly,Bro Ron.
I am still praying for you and Dave Roxie. What your family is going through right now is not easy… fair… or right. But God is watching. When people do things that do not honor God, He does not forget. I encourage you to remember 2 Chron 20:12, Phil 1:27, and Pr 3:5-6. I know both of you and am confident that you will honor God. He will not allow you to fall, but will work His will to conform you to the image of Jesus. Bless you both!
Brother Ron, Thank you for voicing the truth!! I am going to tell everyone I know to read this today!! Great wisdom…great truth!! AMEN!!
Very much needed in these trying times…
It’s true… Our God Reigns!!!!
