Walking is nothing more than controlled falling. First… stand. Second… lean forward (Begin to fall). Third… take a step forward. Fourth keep leaning forward (falling) while taking steps and you walk (Controlled falling). When you quit walking it means either you stopped your controlled fall OR you quit stepping forward and therefore you fell.
What’s the point? Walking with Christ is controlled (spiritual) falling. First we are to stand (Ps 20:8)… then we walk (Ro 6:4). If we ever cease to walk (A controlled fall which could happen at any second) then we will fall. HOWEVER… we partner with God so that our falling is controlled by Him as we walk as He commands. Christians walk… lean forward… continuously taking one step after the other (Controlled falling) in this manner…
Trusting that God is in control of our life (Romans 14:4)
Knowing that God keeps us from falling (Jude 24-25)
Because of Jesus we are able to walk according to The Spirit (Romans 8:3-4)
Walking (Controlled falling) steers clear of moral stumbling blocks (Sexual perversion, drunkenness, immorality, quarreling, & jealousy) {Romans 13:13-14}
Christian’s walk (Control their falling) through faith (2 Corinthians 5:7)
Walking (Controlled falling) is commanded as part of the call to salvation which includes humility, gentleness, patience, and loving others through unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:1-3)
Love is the reason each step is taken in order to keep from falling (Ephesians 5:1-2)
Controlled falling (Walking) is something that takes deliberate thought regarding proper and improper conduct from the heart (Ephesians 5:15-21)
Walking (Controlled falling) is done by pleasing the Lord by bearing fruit and knowing Him better (Colossians 1:9-12)
Walking… controlled falling… is an expression of love for God by keeping His commandments (2 John 6).
