Maybe I’m the only one that thinks these things, but this one is really hard to get my arms around.  Read below, then I have a few thoughts for contemplation.

2 Peter 1:3 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us to His own glory and excellence, 4 by which He has granted to us His precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the Divine nature…

Romans 8:29 For those whom He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son…

Revelation 3:21 The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with Me on My throne, as I also conquered and sat down with My Father on His throne.

I… we… Christians become “Partakers of the Divine nature?!”  Does being “conformed to the image of Christ” somehow indicate or enhance the idea from 2 Peter 1:4 about becoming “partakers of the Divine nature?”  Are either or both of these thoughts applicable to being given the right to sit with Jesus on His throne?!  Christians sitting with Jesus on His throne is equated with Jesus sitting down with God the Father on His throne… I can’t fathom that!

I just can’t wrap my arms around the miracle of becoming a partaker of the Divine nature!  But it is written in  1 John 3:2, “We know that when He appears we shall be like Him…”  Theologians and commentators can explain that in all the different ways they’d like (Or I want to know about)… but at the end of the day the Word says what it says… “we shall BE LIKE HIM,” and we are “PARTAKERS of the DIVINE nature.”  The more I contemplate the reality of these passages, the more I rejoice for what Jesus did for ALL WHO WILL BELIEVE.

Meditate on those passages (Not my thoughts on them… but the Scriptures themselves), then consider 1 Corinthians 2:9…

It is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him…”
