Recently I’ve been meditating on a few sections of Scripture… asking God to work them in me.

As you read the Scripture, try praying them to God… “Father… make me (Fill in the blank from each passage in bold italic)

Eph 4:29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God… 31 Let all bitterness & wrath & anger & clamor & slander be put away from you, along with all malice. 32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Colossians 3:12 Put on then… compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, & patience, 13 bearing with one another &, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts… And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly… with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him…

2 Tim 2:24 And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, 25 correcting his opponents with gentleness.

Titus 3:1 Be ready for every good work, 2 to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, & to show perfect courtesy toward all people.

Becoming more like Jesus doesn’t just happen… it takes dedication, devotion, and purpose.  The more we meditate upon God’s Word regularly… asking Him to work it in us… the more like Christ we become.
