The Christian’s answer should be, “No, I am never alone! God is with me always!” Consider the Scripture and meditate deeply…

Heb 13:5 Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 6 So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”

Ps 139:7 Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? 8 If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! 9 If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, 10 even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me. 11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night,” 12 even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you.

Jer 23:23 “Am I a God at hand, declares the Lord, and not a God afar off? 24 Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord.”

Is 41:9 I have chosen you and not cast you off”; 10 fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Is 41:12 You shall seek those who contend with you, but you shall not find them; those who war against you shall be as nothing at all. 13 For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.”

Truth trumps feelings. So I ask you who have read, are you alone? Have you been abandoned? Is there reason for hope?

God cannot and does not lie. Just because I… we… you feel alone doesn’t mean you ARE alone! Just because it seems as though nothing is happening doesn’t mean God isn’t at work. Oh that we would take comfort and joy in GOD rather than his “stuff” (Answered prayers… health… material possessions). EVERYTHING in this world will pass away (Our youth, mind, family, house, friends, career, etc), but God abides forever. HE, and HE ALONE, must be our joy… our hope… our strength… our all.

This life, and everything in it, is a broken cistern that cannot hold water. So we should go to the well… to the fountain that never runs dry… to God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! THERE you will find comfort and joy no matter what your situation.
