SufficientQuestion: When you get blindsided by life, who (Specifically) do you turn to first… who is the first person you call or go see? Usually it is our spouse, trusted friend, or pastor. Those people can be of some help, but in reality there should be a HUGE gap between the first person we seek and them. Who we go to first is the person we think has the most wisdom, most ability to help us, the one who can help us with our problem.

My grace is sufficient for you… (2 Cor 12:9)

Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. (2 Cor 3:4-6)

When you fail… God is sufficient. When your spouse leaves you… God is sufficient. When your child is in rebellion… God is sufficient. When you get fired… God is sufficient. When a spouse dies… God is sufficient.

Saying “God is sufficient” means HE is enough. HE is all you need. HE is your comfort. HE is your strength. HE is your help.

If everyone else… EVERYONE… if everyone else abandons you, God is sufficient. God’s grace is sufficient!

So what do you do? Where do you find God?

Go to the Scripture (Try 1 Peter). Worship God (Have a CD of favorite worship songs. SING!). Pray (Cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you!). And what will happen? “The Spirit (will) give (you) life!” (2 Cor 3:6).
