I have posted previously about Mrs. Tada. You can read these here (Suffering) and here (Suffering Part 2)and here (Word of Faith). She has been and is an inspiration for many… both the physically impared and those struggling due to suffering. Now she enters a new phase in life.
Joni Eareckson Tada is founder and chief executive officer of Joni and Friends International Disability Center in Agoura Hills, Calif., has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Joni is an international disability advocate as a quadriplegic herself, and is also known for being an artist and author. Consider her perspective on this latest test…
I’ve often said that our afflictions come from the hand of our all-wise and sovereign God, who loves us and wants what is best for us. So, although cancer is something new, I am content to receive from God whatever He deems fit for me. Yes, it’s alarming, but rest assured that Ken [her husband] and I are utterly convinced that God is going to use this to stretch our faith, brighten our hope and strengthen our witness to others.
Now consider the Scripture from 1 Corinthians 10:12-13…
Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall. 13 No test has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and He will not let you be tested beyond your ability, but with the test He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
God bless Mrs. Tada.
Amen!
Ron, at times I do not understand these things. See you and the family on the 4th.
Thanks for the info. I was not aware of this. She has always been an inspiration to me. If anyone ever had a reason to frown… but she just keeps smiling and giving of herself. Makes me ashamed of my many short comings.
Hey there Doctor!!!! I just wanted to take time time away from my morning at the church and let you know everyday you inspire me with your story of faith. I really appreciate you and look to you as a great role model. I ask you keep up this great attitude of the gospel and please know i honor the friendship we have!
FOSTER! I am looking forward to seeing you and the crew 7/7, 7/14, and 7/25! In fact, I’m working now on the message for 7/7. And don’t worry… He’ll be brought up very early in the message! Keep the faith… seek God… Love God… Love others. Oh… I haven’t forgotten your part in the goat event. So I’d keep a close watch over my shoulder if I were you…
Thank you. You and your family are such a blessing to us. We miss you all.
