“God, would you use me to bring at least one unbeliever a year to Christ until I die?” Try making that a prayer request. What if every Christian in every church prayed that daily and then lived it!
Christians ought to love people because Jesus did… they have an eternal soul worth saving. Therefore it is proper to engage them in conversation that is more significant than Obama Care, the Super Bowl, the latest gossip, or “global warming.” For believers, the most significant concepts we are to engage others with is God, Jesus, eternity, sin, and salvation.
“How do I do that?” is a question many believers have. Foundation: Be a regular reader of the Scripture. The Holy Spirit will use this to recall to your mind His Word in your discussions. Now, here are a few questions for engaging unbelievers with the Gospel. The goal is an ongoing dialogue the Spirit uses to awaken the spiritually dead.
Q1: What do you believe about God… and how did you come to that conclusion? (NOTE! The last phrase is the most important one!)
Q2: What do you believe about Jesus… and how did you come to that conclusion?
Q3: What do you believe about Christianity… and how did you come to that conclusion?
Q4: What do you believe about eternity… and how did you come to that conclusion?
Q5-A: Who was Jesus? Q5-B: What did he do? Q5-C: Why does that matter?
Ask God to use you to bring at least one person to Christ… every year… till he calls you home. In other words, be salt and light.
