emailThis weekend I received an email from a friend I hadn’t talked to in over four years. Here is what he wrote, “I hope you are well but God has put you on my mind recently so I have been praying for you and family.”

That was it. One line… twenty-three words… a world of encouragement!

Consider that when a name pops into your mind, the Holy Spirit is prompting you to act… to at least pray. Then, send an email. Make a phone call. If you’re close enough, go visit them. Who knows, God may be leading you as He did Philip in Acts 8:26-39. You never know, something simple may be just what a person needs at a particular moment to be encouraged.

“Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works… encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near” (Hebrews 10:25).
