What would we hear if we could really “listen” to our heart?  Jesus gave us some insight (Which the video below supports.  Thanks to Beth Hendrix for the link).  Here’s what our Savior said…

Matthew 12:33 Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad, for the tree is known by its fruit. 34 You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil.

Matthew 15:18 But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. 20 These are what defile a person. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone.

Consider also…

Proverbs 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.

Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Psalm 101:3 I will set before my eyes no vile thing.

Matthew 6:22 The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, 23 but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness.  If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!
