God willing, next Sunday night, we will begin a study of The Apostles’ Creed. One of the resources I’ll be using is “Credo” written by Dr. Ray Pritchard who was with us two Sundays ago. If you’d like to read his book as we study the creed you can order it by clicking here.
For your convenience I am including the text of The Apostles’ Creed below. Read it several times if you can so that you can begin to familiarize yourself with this historic statement of the Christian faith. I’m sure you will find much to meditate upon in the coming days.
While there are several different versions, which we’ll discuss in the message series, this is the one that we will be using.
The Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.
Amen.
