Denny Burk has an excellent response to those who say that Christians have a problem… which is; “Is a woman is fit to be Vice-President or even President… but not to lead and pastor a church.”

“Test everything… hold on to what is good” (1 Thess 5:21).
The Danver’s Statement regarding gender roles is another article worth reading in the vein of “Test Everything” and considering as part of a Biblical position on this topic.
Isn’t Satan clever in how he keeps us divided over such minor issues and cripples us as a whole from actually focusing on sharing the love of God and the gift Christ offers to all? And both sides are so able to argue so convincingly and quote scriptures out of their context to support their respective positions. One can only imagine how all of this bickering grieves the heart of God…
Actually, I would find myself on the conservative side on this one. Also… I’m not sure I’d call it a minor issue unless “major issues” have to do with God’s character and the matters of salvation.
Thanks for your input!
Ron
Well, perhaps if Christians truly had a proper concept of who God really is and the magnitude of his love for us… these other issues would all pale in praise of Him. If our spirits were in true harmony with God’s, all other issues would also be in harmony. Just one person’s opinion though.
Thanks and blessings to you Ron!
