Would you put the future of your family in the hands of a greedy person who is cross with you?  Abraham did.  Consider Genesis 13:8-10…

Then Abram said to Lot, “Let there be no strife between you and me, and between your herdsmen and my herdsmen, for we are kinsmen. 9 Is not the whole land before you? Separate yourself from me. If you take the left hand, then I will go to the right, or if you take the right hand, then I will go to the left.”

Abraham, the patriarch of the family, put a life defining decision in the hands of one of lesser stature… or did he?  Abraham told Lot in essence, “Look.  Let’s not squabble.  It’s time for us to part ways.  So you make the call.  Whatever you DON’T want, I’ll take… no matter what it is.  So go ahead, call the ball.”

Coud you… would you do such a thing?  Abraham put his life and future in the hands of one greater than himself… GOD.  He knew that ultimately God’s will would be done.  He believed the God’s promises.  He was at peace knowing WHATEVER Lot chose would be for his own ultimate good and God’s glory.

That’s where I want to be and live.  I want to have such faith in God that no matter what anyone else says or does, I have peace… joy… and contentment because God is always on His throne!  The way I do that is by burying deep into my heart and soul God’s Word…

Isaiah 46:9 remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me, 10  declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose…’

Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.

Daniel 4:34 Blessed the Most High, and praised and honored him who lives forever, for his dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom endures from generation to generation; 35  all the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, and he does according to his will among the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth;  and none can stay his hand or say to him, “What have you done?”

Romans 9:19 You will say to me then, “Why does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?” 20 But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, “Why have you made me like this?” 21  Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honored use and another for dishonorable use?
