Waiting on God does not mean sitting and doing nothing. Waiting on God is hard work as He forces us to be patient. There are many passages in Scripture for encouragement as we wait. Consider the following and take heart!
Is 40:31 They who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Ps 25:5 Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; for You I wait all the day long.
Ps 27:14 Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!
Ps 33:20 Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. 21 For our heart is glad in Him, because we trust in His holy name.
Ps 37:7 Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! 8 Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil.
Ps 62:1 For God alone my soul waits in silence; from Him comes my salvation. 5 For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from Him. 6 He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
Ro 8:23 We ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in this hope we were saved.
Ro 8:25 If we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
Ja 5:7 Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. 8 You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. 9 Do not grumble against one another…
