At the end of the day… at the end of life… the things that really matter are:
#1. That love for God through Jesus Christ has dominated your life…
#2. That love for others has followed close behind #1…
#3. That you have loved your spouse unconditionally…
#4. That you have loved your children unconditionally…
#5. That you left work early and often to be with your spouse and children…
#7. That you gave of yourself to help others…
#8. That you gave of your resources and possessions to help others…
#9. That you were honest in everything to everyone regardless of the consequences…
#10. That you honored your parents regardless of the mistakes they made.
At the end of life, these things will not matter to you:
#1. How much money you made…
#2. How many committees and boards you served on…
#3. How successful your business was…
#4. How pretty and clean your house was…
#5. The worth of your 401k…
#6. How well known you were by the people you thought cared…
#7. Your physical appearance…
#8. How many degrees you attained…
#9. What others thought of you…
#10. If you were right.
Amen!! This is something I’ve been thinking about and you are exactly right with both what matters and what does not. Have a blessed day.
Amen again! God’s path is the path for all of us to follow and if we stray from it He will understand and help us to find the way. Thank you for your blessings!
