I haven’t posted in a while because there is a flurry of activity going on all around me which is sadly exciting.
It’s sad that we said goodbye to Barrett Long who served WABC as Education Pastor faithfully for 8 years. Before he came to the church he was a pastor and now has been called back to his first love to pastor First Baptist Church of Tuscumbia. His ministry and influence will be missed. As much as we will miss him we will also miss Leann, Anna, and Livingston.
As you might guess… when a staff member leaves there are many decisions to be made and things addressed. And thus the flurry of activity. Suffice it to say that I believe we may be on to a few things here at the church which I’ll be writing about in the near future… God willing. Till now I just ask those who read this to pray for us during the transition time that has resulted from Barrett leaving.
Exciting Opportunity for January 2008. On January 13, 2008 we will have the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University here at WABC. Click here for information. I am more excited about this coming to our church than just about anything else we’ve done here at WABC. There will be a lot of information coming out soon (God willing), so keep a look out at church.
According to the material, the average family that completes the program is able to pay off $5,300 in debt AND save $2,700 at the same time! If that’s not incentive to participate, I don’t know what is! Space is limited so if you’re interested you will want to sign up soon. We already have two who have signed up who don’t even live in Muscle Shaols!!
