This is the question that we will be examining for a number of weeks during 2007. It is as we discover the answer to this question that we will seek to implement Philippians 1:27… “Whatever happens, conduct yourself in a manner worthy of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
May I suggest you tighten your spiritual seatbelt and get ready for a ride? It is when we get serious about our faith that The Adversary will see how serious we are willing to be!
He will probably throw us a few curves. There’s a good chance that as we are meditating upon Philippians 1:27 that we’ll have an opportuinty to implement it. And as a result we will get a chance to bear witness to the power and love of God through Jesus Christ.
So be ready! I believe God is going to grow us through our examination of The Gospel of Jesus Christ. I also believe that through this process God is going to take it up a step or two in conforming us to the image of Christ.
It won’t be through listening to the messages that it’ll happen… it’ll be as you encounter circumstances that require you to put into practice what you believe.
I am confident that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion! In other words, you will be successful! You will grow stronger! You will become more like Jesus!
It may be a slow process… it might seem like not much is happening… but by the end of 2007 (God willing) you will be able to look back and measure the progress you’ve toward godliness… holiness… and spiritual maturity!
