First consider God’s Word. That is always the place to start…

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be conceited. 17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. 19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” (Romans 12:14-20)

Want to be joyful? Follow what God tells you to do/be! Now, go back and read the passage above slowly knowing it will run contrary to your natural instinct. But remember this: God created you. He hard wired you in keeping with His will & commands. He put up a moral fence for us not to cross for our own good. It is when we violate God’s commands that things go haywire for us emotionally and psychologically. Read that again because it is true. So…

When you are persecuted… for your own emotional and spiritual health… bless them. When people have something good happen, rejoice with them. When they weep, weep with them. Choose to be friends with those who cant help you or further your career. If someone hurts you, don’t get even… let God handle it. When it comes dealing with difficult people, LOVE THEM. And then guess what will happen? You will find yourself joyful… happy… blessed.

Don’t take my word for it… TRUST GOD!
