Shocker of shockers: Underdog Boise State beat powerhouse Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl.
Boise State tied Oklahoma with 7 seconds to go in the game on a trick play to take the game into overtime. Oklahoma scored on the first play of overtime and added the one point conversion. Boise State converts a fourth down into a touchdown on a semi-trick play (Their QB didn’t throw the TD pass). Then Boise State used the old “Statue of Liberty” play in going for two and made it. Boise State beat Oklahoma 43-42 in an unexpected upset!

Commentary: The difference between The Fiesta Bowl and my hypethetical “game” is that the Fiesta Bowl game’s outcome was in doubt until it was actually played out on the field. No one knew who would win, and just about as many believed Boise State would beat Oklahoma. But that’s why they play the game on the field.
The final outcome of my hypothetical game was never in doubt. Regardless of how it looked to the world… from the beginning God’s victory was never in doubt. This is known because Jesus fulfilled God’s plan of salvation which was in place before the world began. This is why Jesus constantly referred to his life as “The Scriptures must be fulfilled.”
Much is in doubt in this life, but nothing is in doubt regarding salvation! Jesus was born, lived a perfect life, died, and was resurrection all according to God’s plan… to bring Himself glory and save all who would believe. The underdog didn’t win for God is never the underdog, He’s always the victor!
