It is so easy to get down and depressed in life. When our plans, dreams, and desires either don’t happen or are delayed we can tend to lose hope. When that happens we need to be very careful that we don’t forget that our worth and joy are first tied to our relationship with God through Jesus and not anything in this world (Which includes: Job, Career, Family, Possessions, Friends, et al).
Consider that it was DECADES between when God promised Abraham he would have a child and when the child was born. It was DECADES between when God promised the children of Israel they would inhabit the Promised Land and when He delivered it to them. It was HUNDREDS of years between when the Prophets spoke about the coming Messiah and when Jesus was born. The longest three days in history were between when Jesus died and when He was resurrected.
Consider the Scripture…
Gen 18:14 Is anything too hard for the Lord?
Jer 32:17 Ah, Lord God! It is you who has made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.
Jer 32:27 Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?
Mt 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Mk 10:27 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.”
Consider what God has done, which gives us hope for what God can do:
He created everything with a spoken word…
He made the ax head float…
He made the sun stand still…
He parted the Red Sea…
He brought ten plagues upon Egypt…
He brought water from a rock…
He made manna fall from heaven…
He made barren women have children…
He raised the dead to life…
He fed thousands, with abundance left over…
He caused a virgin to conceive a child…
He turned the water into wine…
He cast out demons…
He made the blind from birth to see…
He made the cripple from birth to walk…
He healed all manner of illnesses…
He walked on the water… and…
He raised Himself from the dead!
Now I ask you… is ANYTHING too hard for God?! Name what you want… is there anything God cannot do? Take the most hopeless situation… is it beyond God’s power and ability? Answers: No… No… and NO!
Ephesians 3:20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Is life tough? Yes. Does it seem at times we’ll be overwhelmed? Yes. Are there times when we don’t see any solution to the situation we’re in? Yes. ((PAUSE)) Is God able to bring us out of those situations victoriously? Is God able to turn night into day? Is God able to bring victory out of defeat? Is there anything God cannot do?!
Just because we don’t see how something CAN be good doesn’t mean it ISN’T good. We walk by faith, not by sight. We trust in the Lord with all our heart and do not lean on our own understanding. We know that God causes all things to work together for those who love Him, who are the called according to His purpose. We rejoice that our names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Live. We set our minds on things above… not things on earth.

You are right, we must keep our minds on things above. It is easy to be overwhelmed when you are suffering with a situation that may never change on this side of heaven.
Some people endure physical pain that cannot be relieved, some people live in a repressive political system, whatever the situation we have to realize that the victory may not come in this life. Philippians 2:17, “But I will rejoice even if I lose my life, pouring it out like a liquid offering to God.”
Thank you!
Thank you so much Bro Ron!God knew that I needed to be reminded of this.I am trying so hard not to let this get me down. I have been praying that no matter what the outcome i want to bring glory to God.I want people to see Jesus in me.I want people to be drawn to Him. I want to be as close to God in my personal life as I can be. I have to stay close to Him to be able to handle this. I dont want to fail Him.
